What are the golf course hours of operation?
The golf course may be played at first light in the morning, provided there is no frost.
The Golf Shop is open from 7:00 a.m. until dusk every day during the summer season, unless we have no golfers due to poor weather. The Golf Shop is open at 8:00 a.m. in the spring and fall.
Do I need a tee time?
Tee times are encouraged for every round of golf. To reserve a tee time please call the Soldiers Field Golf Shop at 281-6176. Tee times are taken up to five days in advance, counting the day you are calling. For example, you may call Tuesday for a Saturday tee time, etc.
When are leagues conducted?
Most of our league play begins in May and end in early September. We have leagues for men, women, and teenagers. Women’s Leagues are held on Wednesday morning, the Senior Men’s League is on Thursday morning, the Teenage Golf League is held Thursday afternoon, and the Men’s Club is held throughout the week and once a month on Sunday morning.
Do I need to be a good golfer to play at Soldiers Field GC?
Absolutely not! Thousands of golfers have learned to play golf at Soldiers Field. The Golf Staff can easily give you tips to enjoy your round, regardless of your ability.
How old do you have to be to drive a golf cart at Soldiers Field GC?
You must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid drivers license. Sorry, but permits are not acceptable.
Can we play golf in a fivesome?
Yes, provided you can play each 9 holes in 2 hours or less. We ask that groups notify us that they have a fivesome before starting play. Fivesomes playing at a slow pace will be asked to split up.
At what age can a junior play golf at Soldiers Field?
As soon as they can golf. Juniors age eight and under must be accompanied by an adult. A creative set of junior tees are placed in the fairways at appropriate yardages for juniors age nine and above. Juniors making their first birdie from the junior tees receive a free Soldiers Field GC logo golf ball.
