Teenage Golf League 2013 Information
WHAT IT IS: A fun and competitive junior golf league using many formats similar to those used in the biannual PGA Ryder Cup Matches.
WEEKLY FORMAT: Weekly competitions including: Four-Ball match or stroke play, Individual Match-Play, Individual Stroke Play, Best Shot, and Alternate Shot. All formats are intended to create fun and competitive matches! All prizes will be paid based on the results of weekly matches and all winners of weekly matches will be awarded prizes
DATES/TIMES: Thursdays, June 13 – August 8. Tee times begin at 12:30 p.m. Players must register and be ready to play 15 minutes before their tee time. The league is expected to conclude from 4:15-5:30, depending on tee time order. Tee times will be posted Wednesday afternoon prior to that week’s play.
LEAGUE FEE: $50.00. This fee is used to pay for weekly prizes. This fee does not include green fees.
ELIGIBILITY: Girls or boy ages 13-19 as of June 13, 2013. This is a competitive golf league, this is not a league for beginners. Boys should be able to score under 100 and girls under 120 for 18 holes. A solid knowledge of golf’s rules and etiquette is required.
WEEKLY REGISTRATION: All players must register on the Junior Golf bulletin board each week they plan to play. Registration will be available up to one week in advance. Registration deadline is by Tuesday evening prior to that week’s play.
HANDICAPS: Golf handicaps will be used in all matches to make such matches as fair as possible. USGA handicaps will be used when available. When not available, handicaps will be based primarily on scoring during the league. Players interested in obtaining a USGA handicap may do so at no charge.
PRIZES: Weekly prizes will be awarded to the winners of weekly matches and special “field events” (contests such as low putts, closest to pin, low putts, etc.).
Golf Balls, golf caps, Soldiers Field tee shirts, and gift certificates are among the prizes that will be awarded to weekly winners.
RULES/DISPUTES: All play will be conducted in accordance with USGA rules. Players are encouraged to read and study the Rules of Golf. Disputes will be resolved in accordance with USGA Rules.
RAIN OUTS: Will not be rescheduled.
